Mark W. Costoso
After developing an interest in the piano at the age of 13 and studying privately with a student of the legendary jazz great, Lenny Tristano, Mark studied classical music theory for four years in high school and continued this training at Five Towns College majoring in composition and piano. During this time, he also developed an interest in the guitar and began playing with several local club bands while being heavily influenced by "progressive" rock groups such as YES, Kansas, King Crimson, Genesis, UK, Gentle Giant and Todd Rundgren's Utopia.
Through his late teens and early twenties, he played keyboards and guitar with a variety of rock, dance, club-date and wedding bands while constantly maintaining a substantial interest in composition.
Frustrated by the inability of bands he worked with to create original material and pursue financially rewarding gigs led Mark to establish his career as a successful electrical contractor. He presently oversees and controls his family's contracting firm in Manhattan and maintains an active interest in writing and recording.
Mark's first CD, "The Turning Around" has received great reviews and has been included on the playlist at ProgRock.com, ProggedRadio.com and Delicious Agony. To learn more visit Mark's website at COSMARK.com.
His CD can be purchased at ProgRockRecords.com.
